Drones require overhauls at certain intervals, usually based on service time.
Drone manufacturers often recommend maintenance programs. If the company decides to deviate from manufacturer’s recommendations it must have very good reasons to do so.
- Avoidable accidents and service interruptions due to insufficient preventive maintenance.
- Review the system in place to ensure the regular overhaul of engines and motors in line with manufacturer recommendations.
- Review the system in place to ensure the regular change of engine oil.
- Understand how a pilot in command performing a preflight inspection can realize that service time intervals have been reached and a required overhaul or a required inspection has not taken place.
